BEACH HOUSE HOTEL HALF MOON BAY EXPANDS ENVIRONMENTALLY AWARE PRACTICES

HALF MOON BAY, CA (Aug. 19, 2008) – Beach House Hotel Half Moon Bay announced new environmentally aware programs now instituted for hotel staff and guests. Already an “As Fresh As It Gets” award winner by the San Mateo County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau for buying and serving products of San Mateo County, Beach House Hotel is now using Vaska Botanical environmentally clean laundry and in-room cleaning products. In addition the hotel implemented energy efficient lighting changes, expanded in-room and public area recycling programs, purchased biodegradable key cards, and installed eco-friendly bamboo flooring in the new Spa treatment room.

Other eco-friendly practices already in use include:
Compost-able disposable paper goods
Re-usable glass coffee mugs with the morning Continental breakfast
New eco-laundry guest linen program for sheets and towels and now, donations to local charities with all retired bed and bath linens
The new eco-awareness programs match the pristine setting on the Half Moon Bay coastline. According to local resident and Beach House Hotel General Manager Dana Dahl, the hotel expanded its green program to help preserve the environment, to meet guests’ needs and requests for environmentally friendly programs, and to be a part of the environmentally-friendly business community that cares about the town of Half Moon Bay.
