There are only so many hours in the day so you better get started early. Enjoy a wide variety of outdoor adventures including mountain biking on Montara Mountain, surfing, hiking in the redwoods at Purrisima Redwood Preserve, horseback riding on the beach and birdwatching. Or take a drive down beautiful Highway One and visit Ano Nuevo State Reserve to watch 2,000 lb. elephant seals, Pigeon Point Lighthouse or Harley Farms Goat Dairy featuring an edible flower garden and tours of their cheese making room.

Start a family tradition by visiting Half Moon Bay for our famous Pumpkin Festival in October or the Night of Lights on Main Street in December. All year round Half Moon Bay and the San Mateo Coast has something for everybody including live music, a seasonal weekend Farmers Market and more.

Fitgerald Marine Reserve
Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, accessed from Moss Beach, and its tidepools are located just ten minutes north of the Beach House. The Fitzgerald Marine Reserve tidepools are one of the most beautiful and easily accessible natural wonders of the Northern California coast.
